St. Simon Catholic parish in Washington, Indiana was founded in 1837. The first St. Simon Catholic Church was erected in 1838. It was replaced with the present Gothic Revival church that was completed in 1887. In 2008 the church was renamed Our Lady of Hope after the merger of St. Simon and St. Mary, the two Catholic parishes in Washington. |
