Mr. Wilkins was a World War II veteran having served with the U.S. Army in Europe. He was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge. In 1963 he opened a dry goods sample store in Washington, Indiana. After retiring from the dry goods business, he wrote articles for The Washington Times-Herald and the Tri-County News. He also worked at Williams Drug Store and Arnold's Uptown Market in Washington. |
