Mr. McCain was a farmer in Veale Township, Daviess County, Indiana. He was elected as a Daviess County Commissioner and took office in January 1945. He was killed December 15, 1945 when the half-ton truck he was driving was struck by a west bound B & O Railroad Co. troop train at the railroad crossing on S.E. 3rd Street in Washington, Indiana.
