Copy of a newspaper article from the October 23, 1919 edition of "The Washington Democrat" newspaper about Cumback, Indiana, a rural community in southern Daviess County. Written at the top is "#1026" which is a reference to the Thelma Bingham books at the Daviess County Museum. She wrote this item was part of a collection that came to the Museum in May 1983 from the Anita Greenwood Estate. Cumback, Indiana is a rural, unincorporated community in Veale Township, Daviess County. The community was named for William Cumback, a U.S. Representative from Indiana. A post office was established at Cumback in 1881, but it was discontinued in 1905. |
