Description |
Twelve leather postcards mailed to Ella Donahue (1887-1975) in Montgomery, Indiana in 1906 and 1907. Miss Donahue was born in Reeve Township of Daviess County, Indiana, the daughter of James Donahue and Anna (Jones) Donahue (1858-1928). She was a teacher for more than 40 years. She began her teaching career in 1905 at the age of 18 and retired in 1946. She was a teacher in the Washington school system for 33 years. Miss Donahue is buried at St. John Cemetery in Washington. These postcards were part of a large collection donated in 2025 to the Daviess County Museum by Robert D. Newland, the great nephew of Ella Donahue. |
