Description |
Picture postcard (ca. 1912) of several men standing in front of the S. A. Ward store at 100 N.E. 5th Street in Washington, Indiana. According to the 1912 Washington City Directory, Spencer A. Ward owned a wholesale poultry, eggs, butter and hides business at 100 N. E. 5th Street. He was also the Washington City Treasurer. On a cardboard label accompanying the photo is written that Glen Yarbrough is in the photo ("wearing suit in Center of picture"). All of the other men are unidentified. Also written on the cardboard is "#1030" which is a reference to the Thelma Bingham books at the Daviess County Museum. She wrote this item was donated to the Museum by Dorothy (Yarbrough) Young in 1983. |
