Description |
Black and white photograph of Frank S. Land (1890-1959) who was the founder in 1919 of DeMolay International, a fraternal organization for young men age 12 to 21. There was a White River Chapter, Order of DeMolay in Washington, Indiana sponsored by The Masonic Lodge in Washington. There was a DeMolay Room on the ground floor of the Lodge at 212 E. Main Street where meetings were held. Mr. Land's photograph hung in the DeMolay Room along with photos of the different club Master Councilors from 1960 to 1969. In 2019 the Daviess County Museum, which purchased the Masonic Lodge in 2005, renovated the DeMolay Room and converted it into a climate controlled storage area for Museum artifacts. The photos of the DeMolay Master Councilors and Mr. Land were discovered and cataloged into the Museum's collection. |
