8 x 10 black and white photograph taken in 1948 at the Chicago Railroad Fair of the 1865 steam locomotive "William Mason" with coal tender attached. On the reverse is written "#1391" which is a reference to the books prepared by Thelma Bingham, long time curator at the Daviess County Museum, which state this picture was part of a collection of railroad photographs obtained from the Al Peek estate. According to the 1952 Washington City Directory, Albert C. Peek was a conductor for the B & O Railroad Company and he resided at 21 Green Acres in Washington, Indiana with his wife, Lois Peek. At the bottom of the photo is written, "1865". |
