Description |
Copies of two undated photographs (ca. 1944-1945) of Earl L. Fields (1912-1997) from Washington, Indiana. He served with the 811th Tank Destroyer Battalion in Europe during World War II. The first two images are of Mr. Fields wearing his dress U.S. Army uniform. The third image is a group snapshot of eight soldiers that includes Earl Fields and his brother, Gilbert A. Fields (1909-1973) who also served in the U.S. Army during WW II. Also included is a copy of two poems entitled "811 Tank Destroyer Lament." Earl and Gilbert Fields were the sons of Mr. George L. Fields (1881-1918) and Mrs. Bertha L. (Mischler) Fields (1885-1948) who lived in Washington. |
