A scanned copy of an undated photograph (ca. 1850-1855) of the home of Elijah Franklin "Judge" Chapman and Mariah C. (Johnson) Chapman in Daviess County, Indiana. Judge Chapman was the founder of the town of New London on the East Fork of the White River in what became Harrison Township, Daviess County, Indiana. He established the first saw mill in Daviess County. He was an associate judge of the Daviess County Circuit Court for two terms. The first image is the cropped photo. The second image is the photo with a caption. This photo was scanned from the booklet, "Biographical and Genealogical History of Chapman-Johnson-Wallace-Palmer Family" (ca. 1925), that was part of a large collection donated in 2025 to the Daviess County Museum from the estate of Richard "Dick" Gerald Overton (1937-2024).
