Description |
1938 black and white photograph of 23 young women and three adult women standing on the front steps of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF) Lodge on Main Street in Washington, Indiana. The young women were the Violet Theta Rho Girls that were associated with the Eureka Lodge Number 78 Degree of Rebekah International Order Of Odd Fellows (I.O.O.F.) in Washington. The photo is likely part of collection #1378 noted in the Thelma Bingham books at the Daviess County Museum. She wrote that four pictures were from the Liverpool Lodge # 100 in Washington and "are on loan by the lodge and may be reclaimed at any time." All of the women are identified in the caption to an October 7, 1938 article published in "The Washington Democrat" that is included. |
