Description |
An undated, hand-colored black and white photograph (ca. 1900-1910) of the William H. Swinda home and barn south of Elnora, Indiana. There is a horse and buggy in front of the house, a child in the buggy, and a man standing in front of the horse. There is an adult standing on the front porch. There is another horse and buggy in front of the red barn with a child in the buggy and a man standing in front of the horse. All of the people are unidentified. A label tapped at the bottom of the photo reads, "Donated By: Wm. B Neeriemer/The William H Swinda Home/Elnora, Indiana." On the reverse is written, William Swinda Home South of Elnora." Also written on the reverse is "#1217" which is a reference to the Thelma Bingham books at the Daviess County Museum. She wrote this was one item in a large collection donated to the Museum on August 5, 1986 by Dean H. Neeriemer, an attorney in Washington, Indiana, who was the grandson of Mr. Swinda. The photo has been trimmed to fit an oval frame. |
