An October 1927 black and white photograph of the 7th and 8th grade students and their teachers, Myrtle (Eskew) McCormick (third row, standing far right) and E. E. Meade (third row, standing far left), outside the Longfellow School in Washington, Indiana. The two story, brick building was constructed in 1903. It was demolished in 1976. The names of some of the students are written on a separate sheet of paper. Written on the reverse is "#1070" which is a reference to the Thelma Bingham books at the Daviess County Museum. She wrote this photo was part of a large collection donated to the Museum by Phillip Eskew, the brother of Myrtle (Eskew) McCormick in May 1984. |
