Mr. Sullivan first enlisted into Company K, Fourteenth Indiana Volunteer Infantry, and was taken to West Virginia. His command became part of the Army of the Portomac. In the summer after his enlistment, his regiment came into contact with the Rebels at Rich Mountain. He participated in the Batlle of Bull Run, Killpatrick's Raid on Richmond, Green Briar, South Mountain, Fredricksburg, Chancellorsville, Ceder Mountain, Raccoon Ford, Malvern Hill, Antietam, and Gettysburg. He served three years. |
