Mr. Bruce was employed as an engineer by the B & O Railroad Co. in Washington, Indiana. He was killed November 11, 1945 in a work accident when the east bound passenger train on which he was the engineer struck a gasoline transport truck at the 12th street crossing in Lawrence, Illinois. Also killed in the wreck was William Emmick from Washington, the train fireman, and William Barnett, the driver of the truck. |
