A copy of the July 20, 1912 lease for real estate at the intersection of W. 19th and North Street on the west side of Washington, Indiana. The agreement was between Henrietta Mangin (1855-1934), the landowner, and Harry A. Sheron, William Larrick, Firman Rodarmel, Zed Morton and A. J. Morton, the lessees. The purpose of the lease was to construct "a modern amateur baseball park." The lessees were obligated to erect a grandstand and bleachers and to enclose the baseball park with "a high board fence." The term of the lease was 3 years and 3 months beginning July 20, 1912. The rent was $35 per year. The baseball park became known as "Woodlawn Park Baseball Field." |
