Scope & Content |
Scanned article from the July-August 1950 edition of "US" magazine published by the United States Rubber Company. The article featured the two U.S. Rubber factories in Washington, Indiana. Plant No. 1 was at 17 N.E. 4th Street. Plant No. 2 was on 21st Street. In 1950 U.S. Rubber significantly expanded Plant No. 2 in order to make rubber-surfaced Raynsters products. The article reported that U.S. Rubber employed 500 people in Washington. It described Washington as a "progressive and prosperous community" of 11,000 people. Dale Smith in 2018 allowed the Daviess County Museum to scan this article into the Museum's collection. |
