The biography of Fay (Wentzell) Hart-Ledbetter (1924-2024) prepared by her daughter, Cate (Hart) Hyatt. Fay Wentzell was the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Morley and Goldie Wentzell. In 1944 during World War II, she married Ray Leonard Hart (1922-2007) a native of Washington, Indiana who was serving in the U.S. Navy. They had two daughters, Cathy "Cate" (Hart) Hyatt and Cynthia (Hart) Delaney. After the war, Ray and Fay returned to Ray's hometown where they owned and operated Chat and Nibble restaurant and later Blue Bird Cafe in Washington. Fay later married Joe Hardeman Ledbetter (1923-1994). She started Fay's Catering, specializing in weddings with ornate cakes. This biography was part of a large collection donated in 2025 to the Daviess County Museum by Cate (Hart) Hyatt. |
