Transcription of the April 25, 1868 contract for Anton Kiefer to deliver 150,000 "good sound merchantable bricks" by August 1868 for the construction of the First Presbyterian Church at the corner of N.E. 2nd and East Walnut Streets in Washington, Indiana. Philip Cruse and Jacob Hoffmeister were agents for the church building committee. See 2020.FIC.0358 for a photo of the church. The First Presbyterian Church was razed in 1910 and replaced on the same site with the Westminster Presbyterian Church that was dedicated in 1912. This item was donated to the Daviess County Museum by Helen (Zinkans) Kretz. |
