Undated architectural drawing (ca. 1913) of the "First Floor Plan" of the "Sugarland Consolidated School" north of Washington, Indiana prepared by Lester W. Routt and Byron Sutton. On the reverse is written "#1061" which is a reference to the Thelma Bingham books at the Daviess County Museum in which she wrote this was one item in a large collection donated in 1983 to the Daviess County Museum by Mrs. Charles Gardner of Vincennes, Indiana, Mr. Routt's daughter. The No. 6 Consolidated Sugarland School was constructed in 1914. It was used for grades one through eight and opened for the 1914-1915 school year. In 1967-1968 grades seven and eight were transferred to the Washington Junior High School. The next year the school was closed and the building was demolished. |
