May 12, 1924 mortgage and $1,500 promissory note to Franklin College of Indiana signed by Sarah C. Clarke, Densil D. Williams, George D. Williams and Seth A. Williams by his guardian. The collateral for the loan was real estate in Section 16, Township 4 North, Range 7 West and Section 21, Township 4 north, range 6 west in Daviess County, Indiana. Also included is the satisfaction and release of this mortgage dated April 19, 1929. Writing on the note indicates the note was assumed by Mary A. O'Bryan. See 2021.FIC.0920.0015 in Archives. However, see 2021.FIC.0920.0016 which states the 1924 note was foreclosed by Franklin College in 1929. On the reverse of each document is written"#748" which is a reference to the Thelma Bingham books at the Daviess County Museum. She wrote this item was part of a collection of documents from the "John W. O'Bryan family" that lived in Bogard Township from 1906 to 1945. Ms. Bingham wrote these papers were donated to the Museum by Robert Myers on June 11, 1979. |
