April 4, 1968 newspaper article about Dogwood Lake in the Glendale Fish and Wildlife Area in southern Daviess County. The lake covers 1400 surface acres. It is 37 feet deep at the dam and has an average depth of eight feet. The gate at the dam was closed March 24, 1966 and it took a little over two years for the lake to reach full capacity. Glendale is a popular camping and fishing site and the lake is stocked with bass, bluegill, black crappie, readear, channel and flathead catfish. The recreational and wildlife preserve is operated by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources. |
