Record book of the Aikman Creek Baptist Church in Harrison Township south of Washington, Indiana from 1844 to 1863. The book contains 83 pages of handwritten entries. Pages 1-6 are about a February 26, 1844 meeting of forty-six Baptists at a "school house in Daviess County near Aikmans Creek in Harrison Township." They adopted a Constitution and Rules for the "Aikmans Creek Baptist Church" that are entered in the book. Pages 8-11 is a list of the first members of the church. Pages 12 to 83 are handwritten minutes of church business meetings from March 16, 1844 to April 11, 1863. The names in the People Field are just a portion of the individuals referenced in this book. The church was closed in 2021. |
