Scope & Content |
Thomas R. Cobb & John H. O'Neal v. Aaron B. Hawes, et. al. lawsuit, Daviess Circuit Court, Cause No. 7486, May Term, 1891. Thomas R. Cobb & John H. O'Neal claimed that in 1883 and 1884 Aaron B. Hawes executed three promissory notes to the First National Bank of Vincennes totalling $2,000 and that Mr. Cobb & Mr. O'Neal were sureties on the notes. Mr. Cobb & Mr. O'Neal claimed that Aaron B. Hawes defaulted on the payment of the notes, First National Bank of Vincennes filed suit and obtained a judgment against Mr. Hawes in the Daviess Circuit Court, and Mr. Cobb & Mr. O'Neal as sureties were required to pay the judgment. Mr. Cobb & Mr. O'Neal requested judgment against Aaron B. Hawes and others for their damages, for a lien on Mr. Hawes' real estate in Daviess County, Indiana, and on his personal property (horses, mules, cattle, hogs, sheep, wagons, and farm equipment) which plaintiffs claimed he fraudulently transferred to Nancy A. Hawes. |
