Copy of a December 1952 magazine article, "B & O Builds 9 Cars a Day Outdoors," published in "Modern Railroads" about the rail car assembly line opened by the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company on July 9, 1952 in Washington, Indiana. The article provides text and photos about the steps in the assembly process. Page 62 of the article talks about the September 18, 1952 "Car Shop Day" held in Washington in appreciation of the more than 500 people employed at the B & O Shops.
