Article on the front page of an undated "The Washington Times-Herald" newspaper (ca. 1981) reporting on a meeting of the Daviess County Commissioners. The major item on the agenda was a review of a "slightly scaled down version" submitted by Fleck & Hickey, an architectural firm in LaPorte, Indiana, for a new Daviess County Jail on Walnut Street in Washington, Indiana. At the same meeting representatives of the Daviess County Historical Society (DCHS), Clifford Bingham, Owen & Kathleen Rader, Eleanor Purdue and Harold White, presented the society's 1981 budget and requested a separate tax rate be established to support the Daviess County Museum. |
