Undated newspaper column, "The Historical Perspective," (ca. 1985-1995) published in the Tri-County News newspaper and sponsored by Citizens Insurance Agency of Washington, Indiana. This article discusses Pullman Passenger Car, Number 1533, dating from the 1860s. It was purchased by William L. Beard in 1983 and located at his home on 11th Street in Washington. Mr. Beard later sold the Pullman car to the Brass Lantern Restaurant on Highway 50 in Washington. The restaurant used the car as a dining facility for several years. When the Brass Lantern Restaurant was sold to new owners, the Pullman car was demolished. This was one of many newspaper articles donated to the Daviess County Museum by Robert A. Brothers in 2019. |
