Multiple real estate tax receipts from 1917 to 1931 paid on land owned either by Ezra or Edith Bingham on a farm in Veale Township in Daviess County or a lot in McTeggarts Addition in Washington, Indiana. Ezra and Edith were the parents of Clifford Horrall Bingham. Ezra was accidentally killed in 1917 while working for the B & O Railroad. In 1918 the taxes on the Bingham lot in McTeggarts Addition and the farm ground in Veale Township were paid by Louis A. Allen or Robert H. Bell. For 19 years Clifford and his wife, Thelma Bingham, were the Director and Curator respectively at the Daviess County Museum in Washington. This item was part of a large collection donated to the Daviess County Museum in 2018 by the Washington Carnegie Public Library. The collecction was given to the library by Thelma Bingham. |
