December 1, 2021 letter from Althea (McKinley) Laakman of Vincennes, Indiana to the Daviess County Museum in Washington, Indiana. Ms. Laakman provides biographical information about her ancestor, Elizabeth Agnes (Campbell) McKinley and members of the Arthur family. Ms. Laakman disagrees with several entries made in "History of the Arthur-Steen Family" by Elijah A. Arthur (See 2017.FIC.1861 in Archives). After Elizabeth Campbell's first husband died, Ms. Laakman reports Elizabeth married George McKinley. Mr. & Mrs. McKinley moved to Daviess County, Indiana in 1817 and purchased real estate in the Town of Liverpool that later became Washington.
