1944 "Individual Report" from the St. Simon Catholic Church in Washington, Indiana. The report provides an alphabetized list of parishioners and the amounts each contributed to the church that year. On the last two pages is a list of "sons and daughters of St. Simon's" who were serving in the military during World War II. The names of the seven parishioners killed in action were underlined. The five parishioners missing in action had an "x" next to their names. St. Simon Catholic Church was constructed in 1886. In 2008 it was renamed Our Lady of Hope after the merger of St. Simon and St. Mary, the two Catholic parishes in Washington. This item was part of a large collection donated in 2012 to the Daviess County Museum by Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. |
