Mary E. Lett v. Arthur Lett, Hugh Lett and Susan Lett lawsuit, Daviess Circuit Court, Cause No. 5911, September Term, 1885. Action to quiet title to real estate. Mary E. Lett claimed she received a substantial inheritance when her father, William B. Thomas, who died in 1868. In 1880 she gave her husband, Eli Lett, part of her inheritance to buy real estate in Daviess County, Indiana, but Mr. Lett put the land solely in his name. Mr. Lett died without a will in 1883 survived by Mrs. Lett and their three minor children who were named as defendants. |
