March 5, 1887 plat map of the Campbell Hill Addition in Washington, Indiana. The addition was created by Sarah A. (Campbell) Hayes, Matilda M. Campbell and Anna "Annie" (Campbell) Harned, three of the children of James Campbell (1806-1876). This map was part of the Campbell family collection (two photos, documents and several textiles) donated to the Daviess County Museum in 2023 by Michael Fitzpatrick, in memory of his mother, Virginia Fitzpatrick. Virginia was one of the founders of Harned Home, Inc., a not-for-profit corporation that purchased the historic Campbell-Harned Home built by James Campbell in 1853. In 1990 a $225,000 grant from the Indiana Department of Commerce was obtained that was used to refurbish the Harned Home. |
