Annie E. Martin v. Benjamin Martin divorce petition, Daviess Circuit Court, Cause No. 5806, May Term, 1885. Mr. & Mrs. Martin were married August 12, 1877. One child was born of the marriage: Perry Martin on February 28, 1880. Mrs. Martin claimed her husband struck, beat, bruised, cursed and blasphemed her a "great many times." She also claimed her husband on May 23, 1885 "picked up said boy Perry in his arms and ran away with him" and she does not know what became of her child. Mrs. Martin requested custody of the child. |
