A promissory note dated February 23, 1911 for $71 owed by several people to the Vonderschmitt Music Company of Washington, Indiana for the purchase of a set of band instruments (See 2017.FIC.2327.0001). Nancy L. Hodge, who was likely married to George L. Hodge, obtained title to this note and sought to have it collected. Mr. Hodge was a dealer in Edison Phonographs and Records and had a business relationship with Vonderschmitt Music Company located at 106 E. Main Street. The 1912 Washington City Directory identifies Harry P. Vonderschmitt as the owner. |
