Part of an article in the May 5, 1966 edition of "The Valley Advance" newspaper published in Vincennes, Indiana about the two-story, federal style home at 1208 Bedford Road in Washington, Indiana. The article quoted Evelyn Reed who had lived in the house since 1913 and refers to the house as the "Reed home." Thomas Faith built the house in 1821 and it is considered the oldest existing structure in Washington. It was first a log cabin and the logs still exist under the framed exterior.
