An October 16, 2017 letter from Charles W. Gill of Bloomington, Indiana to Joe Kremp at the Daviess County Historical Society in Washington, Indiana. The letter relates the history of Washington Greenhouses, a business at 208 W. Hefron Street in Washington operated by Mr. Gill's parents, Charles L. Gill, Jr. (1907-1970) and Josephine W. (Wells) Gill (1909-1991). They purchased the business in the early 1930s from the Graham family of Washington. Included is a copy of an undated photograph (ca. 1950-1960) taken by Charles W. Gill of Washington Greenhouses and his uncle, Henry H. "Hank" Gill, Sr. (1909-1972) walking down the front step. Hank Gill was a partner in Washington Greenhouses. |
