A copy of a 1955 report written by Edward A. Kretz (1882-1964) about the Kretz Brick Co. in Washington, Indiana that was established by Joseph Kretz (1842-1921). In 1922 the business was taken over by Edward A. Kretz and John H. Kretz (1885-1968), the sons of Joseph Kretz. According to the report, the business ceased operating in the fall of 1959. This item was donated to the Daviess County Museum by Helen M. (Zinkan) Kretz, the wife of Edward A. Kretz. Also included is a Kretz Brick Co. business envelope postmarked June 15, 1944 and addressed to Delbert Fitzgerald in Washington. There is a handwritten note on the back of the envelope. |
