A 28 page magazine, "Genealogical Use Of Catholic Records In North America," (1978) by Monsignor John J. Doyle, the Archivist and Historian of the Indianapolis Catholic Diocese. Monsignor Doyle reports on the correct and incorrect ways to use Catholic records for genealogy research. He writes, "The records most useful to genealogists are generally not in large depositories or even in diocesan archives, but in the registers of parish churches." At the top of the title page is written "#1440" which is a reference to the Thelma Bingham books at the Daviess County Museum. She writes this item was part of a large collection donated to the Museum by Martha Reiners in October 1990. |
