The biography of Ray Leonard Hart (1922-2007) of Washington, Indiana prepared by his daughter, Cate (Hart) Hyatt. Ray Hart was the son of William Stewart "Bill" Hart (1899-1990) and Cdv (Leonard) Hart (1902-2005). He graduated in 1941 from Washington High School. He was a World War II, U.S. Navy veteran. Ray served aboard the battleship U.S.S. York in both Atlantic and Pacific combat campaigns. After the war Ray and his wife, Fay (Wentzell) Hart-Ledbetter (1924-2024) owned and operated Chat and Nibble restaurant and Blue Bird Cafe in Washington. This biography was part of a large collection donated in 2025 to the Daviess County Museum by Cate (Hart) Hyatt. |
