John R. Cruse v. Sarah Cruse lawsuit, Daviess Circuit Court, Cause No. 5910, September Term, 1885. On June 16, 1885 Philip Cruse died survived by his widow, Sarah Cruse, the third wife of the decedent, and John R. Cruse, the son of Philip Cruse by an earlier marriage. Mrs. Cruse was appointed Administratrix of her husband's estate. John R. Cruse claimed his mother-in-law wrongfully and fraudulently obtained title to the property of his father, consisting of $8,500 U.S. bonds and other tangible personal property, by coaxing and cajoling Mr. Crouse to gift her the property when Mr. Crouse was in a feeble physical and mental health. |
