Copy of a March 16, 1946 Western Union telegram sent by Clarence C. Mangin from Le Havre, France to his wife, Ruth C. Mangin, in Washington, Indiana. Mangin wrote he was "feeling fine" and would be "sailing [home] soon." During World War II Mangin served as a mechanic in the U.S. Army from April 12, 1943 to March 31, 1946. He was deployed to the European theater from May 11, 1945 to March 18, 1946. After his military service, Mr. Mangin returned home and worked at the Coca Cola Bottling Co. in Washington for more than 40 years. Mr. & Mrs. Mangin lived at 211 N.E. 4th Street in Washington. |
