Scope & Content |
Numerous newspaper clippings about the renovation of the former railroad depot in Washington, Indiana. This is one folder in a large collection of photos, letters and records about the Washington Railroad Depot Renovation Project. The historic depot was built in 1915. B & O Railroad Co. discontinued using it as a depot in 1971. From 1971 to 1990 the building was used by retail businesses. The project's purpose was to preserve the historic structure and to allow the Daviess County Chamber of Commerce and the Daviess County Visitor's Bureau to use the building as their offices. The collection was donated to the Daviess County Museum by Thompson Insurance Agency of Washington in 2020. Patricia A. Thompson was President of Daviess County Historic Landmarks, Inc. |
