Typed transcript of an October 31, 1891 article in the Washington Democrat newspaper published in Washington, Indiana about Grandison Thomas Cosby (1858-1938) being indicted by the Daviess County Grand Jury for the murder of Zachariah "Zack" Blades. Mr. Cosby pled not guilty and claimed he was the victim of "a plot." This transcript was found in the research papers of Donald R. Cosby (1931-2023), who was the Daviess County Historian from 2016 to 2022 and the great nephew of Grandison Thomas Cosby. See 2017.FIC.0507 in Archives for an 1893 civil case for defamation filed by Nelson Bogard against Lorenzo D. Evans. Mr. Bogard was also charged with the murder of Mr. Blades, but the charges were later dismissed. |
