Newspaper announcement of the October 28, 1909 wedding of Charles R. Luder and Frances V. "Fannie" Palmer in Washington, Indiana. Mr. Luder was born in Basel, Switzerland. He and his family immigrated to Tuscola County, Michigan in 1884. Luder attended the Illinois College of Photography in Effingham, Illinois and graduated in 1905. He came to Washington in July 1906 and was employed briefly at the Bourgholtzer Studio. In January 1907 he opened his photography business on Main Street which Luder described as a "cubbyhole shop." On December 14 he took over the William H. Snyder Studio at 10 1/2 S.E. 3rd Street where he operated his business until he retired on January 1, 1963. Charles and Fannie Luder had one child, Carl R. Luder (1921-2007). This clipping is on a flash drive donated to the Daviess County Museum in 2023 by Deborah F. (Luder) Gallaway, the daughter of Carl Luder and the granddaughter of Mr. & Mrs. Charles Luder. It contains 174 scanned photos and documents collected by Mr. Luder during his life.
