Business envelope from the War Price & Rationing Board at the Daviess County Courthouse in Washington, Indiana addressed to Oran C. Hill. The right end of the envelope has been ripped off. See 2018.0117.0001 for the Fuel Oil Ration issued to Mr. Hill that was inside the envelope. Mr. Hill was a repairman for the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Company in Washington, Indiana. He lived with his wife, Sallie Hill, his sons, George P. Hill and Oran Cleveland HIll, Jr., and his daughter, Clara V. Hill at 213 N.E. 14th Street in Washington. Each person in the household was required to register with the War Price & Rationing Board and each person received their own sheet or book of ration stamps. The donor, Richard Watkins, found several World War II ration books and documents when he moved into the house at 213 N.E. 14th Street. |
