December 20, 1918 sympathy letter from Hannah Lister, Chief Nurse at Evacuation Hospital # 1 near Toul, France to Rachel McCord of Washington, Indiana following the death of Crystal E. McCord on December 18 from Spanish Flu. Crystal was a nurse who volunteered for the U. S. Army Nurses Corps and was sent to France during World War I. She is buried in France. Also included is a transcript of the letter that was printed in the February 14, 1919 edition of the Daviess County Democrat published in Washington, Indiana. |
