Front page of the April 23, 1979 Washington Times-Herald newspaper. One of the front page stories was about the April 22, 1979 "official opening" of the Daviess County Museum at the former Jefferson School on Donaldson Road in Washington, Indiana. The Museum first occupied the former Jefferson School in 1978 and volunteers spent several months moving artifacts from the Museum's former location at 305 E. Walnut Street in Washington. In 2005 the Museum was moved to 212 E. Main Street in Washington when the Daviess County Historical Society acquired the historic Masonic Temple. Another front page story was about Vincennes University Journalism Awards Dinner on April 21 hosted by Fred Walker, Jr. Greg Litherland of Washington received the Director's Special Award and the Journalism Achievement Award. |
