Ledger book for Harned & Beck Co., a cornice, tin and slate roofing business in Washington, Indiana, from April 3, 1891 to August 19, 1892. The business was founded by Francis M. Harned and William G. Beck in 1891. They purchased the assets of Frank Hausman's roofing business for $37.50. On the inside cover is written "#1428" which is a reference to the Thelma Bingham books at the Daviess County Museum. She wrote this book was part of a record book collection that was donated to the Museum in June 1990 and "originally belonged to the Wm. Beck Family." After William Beck passed away in 1916, his insurance and real estate business was carried on by his son and daughter, William Evart Beck (1899-1970) and Doris Beck (1890-1977). The names in the People Field are just a portion of the individuals referenced in this book. |
